WINDHOEK, 03 SEP (NAMPA) - Namibia switches over to Summer Time on Sunday.
Everyone in the country should thus turn their clocks and other time-keeping pieces forward one hour at 02h00 on Sunday. This will set Namibian time at two hours ahead of the Greenwich mean time.
The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology said in a media statement issued on Thursday that this practice is in accordance with the Namibian Time Act Three of 1994, which regulates winter and summer time in the country.
The Act stipulates that the country enters Summer Time at 02h00 on the first Sunday in September of every year, and reverts to Winter Time at 02h00 on the first Sunday of April every year.
