OTJIWARONGO, 03 SEP (NAMPA) – The Otjiwarongo Annual Trade and Agricultural Show started at the Paresis Showgrounds on Thursday.
Ninety-eight exhibitors from in and around Otjiwarongo are participating this year.
Apart from exhibition stalls, some activities this year include horse riding; children’s entertainment; live snake shows; and car spinning and drifting shows.
The vice chairperson of the show’s organising committee, Eddy Kgobetsi highlighted the brand new vehicles and a variety of farming implements as some of the other major displays to watch out for at the show this year.
He told Nampa on Thursday that local and international artists will showcase their musical talents at the show on Friday and Saturday.
“A big gospel ceremony will take place on Sunday morning before the show closes its activities this year,” Kgobetsi said.
He urged residents of Otjiwarongo and nearby farms to visit the showgrounds between 09h00 and 21h00.
Kgobetsi also urged businesspeople and farmers around Otjiwarongo to support and take ownership of the annual trade and agricultural show so that it can become even bigger in future.
The entrance fee for children is N.dollars 10, while adults pay N.dollars 20.
Otjiwarongo mayor Hilde Jesaja is expected to officially open the show on Friday morning.
Meatco and Standard Bank are some of the key sponsors.
The show ends on Sunday.
