Four murdered over the weekend

WINDHOEK, 30 AUG (NAMPA) – The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) recorded four murders in the Khomas, Oshikoto and Omusati regions this past weekend.
A 21-year-old man lost his life after he was shot in the head on the Monte Christo gravel road near the Oshango Bar in Windhoek on Sunday.
NamPol spokesperson Inspector Pendukeni Haikali told a media briefing here on Sunday the incident occurred at about 01h00 after the deceased and three others allegedly tried to rob a man.
The victim allegedly fired a warning shot which hit the deceased.
The deceased’s next of kin have not yet been informed and police investigations continue.
In the Omusati Region, Johannes Gabriel Mulayi, 50, succumbed to his injuries at the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital after he was stabbed in his upper abdomen with a knife.
The incident occurred at the Onkani location in the Otamanzi Constituency at around 12h30 on Thursday after an argument allegedly broke out between two suspects and the deceased.
The suspects aged 25 and 27 were arrested and are due to appear in the Okahao Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
A 20-year-old-man also succumbed to his injuries after he was stabbed by a relative on his right arm.
The incident occurred after an argument broke out between the suspect and the deceased at Onangobe village at Onayena at about 04h00.
The deceased has been identified as Ananias Angula, 20.

In the same town at Iyami village, Katrina Nelulu, 37, died on the spot after she was allegedly stabbed in the back by her boyfriend on Friday.
The two apparently had an argument while on their way home from a cuca shop in the area.
The 34-year-old suspect been arrested and police investigations into the matter continue.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
