WINDHOEK, 09 AUG (NAMPA) - The City Police arrested two suspects close to their home in the Goreangab residential area on Friday in connection with a burglary at a medical facility in Soweto during the early morning hours of Friday.
The two male suspects, who fled the scene in a red taxi, were involved in a minor vehicle accident shortly after removing several items from the premises.
Superintendent Helena Mootseng from the City Police told Nampa the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident informed the City Police about the accident.
“The driver of the red taxi meanwhile repaired and re-sprayed his taxi to prevent the police tracing it, but information from the public and the City Police's undercover unit led to the speedy arrests,” she said.
The third suspect is known to the City Police and is expected to be arrested soon.
The value of the recovered items is estimated at about N.dollars 30 000, and comprises of several flat screen monitors, a television set, a two-way radio set, a small bar fridge, a pay-point machine, curtains and beverages.
The suspects will appear in court next week, and are detained at a holding cell until then.
