KEETMANSHOOP, 12 AUG (NAMPA) - The Namibia Senior Citizens Movement (NSCM) has expressed gratitude to President Hage Geingob for increasing the monthly pension grants afforded by the taxpayer.
NSCM president Benjamin Jagger this week issued a statement containing a prayer to Geingob.
In it, the group asked for blessings on the president, renewed strength and courage to never falter against any adversity no matter how great.
The old age pension was increased from N.dollars 600 to N.dollars 1 000 for this financial year.
The first payment was received on 04 August, with pensioners receiving N.dollars 2 600, backdated to April this year.
The NSCM is a non-profit organisation that functions as the umbrella body representing and advocating for the rights of all senior citizens in the country.
The slogan of the group is: Injury to one is injury to all.
