Second man hangs himself at Kavango Region this week

KAHENGE, 07 AUG (NAMPA) - A second person has committed suicide by hanging himself in the Kavango Region this week.
The latest incident occurred at the Mbome village, situated 90 kilometres (km) west of Rundu in the Kahenge Constituency, where a 52-year-old man hanged himself with a piece of rope in his sleeping hut.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations’ Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Wednesday that as with the first incident, no suicide note was left behind.
The deceased has been identified as Ndara Kankono, a resident of Mbome village.
His next of kin have been informed.
In the first incident, a 71-year-old pensioner allegedly took his own life by hanging himself with a nylon rope from a tree at Mile 30 village, situated south of Rundu on Monday afternoon.
That deceased was identified as Pete Nanyanga, a resident of Mile 30 village.
