Man stabs girlfriend, takes own life at Outapi

WINDHOEK, 03 AUG (NAMPA) - A 25-year-old woman was fatally stabbed eight times by her boyfriend, who then took his own life at Outapi in the Omusati Region between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Spokesperson, Slogan Matheus informed Nampa on Monday afternoon that the woman was discovered with stab wounds to her neck, torso and arms, while the man was found hanging dead from the ceiling of the woman’s rented room.
He said the couple was seen earlier on Sunday evening seated and talking inside a vehicle belonging to the man in front of the woman’s room.
The two then went into the room, only to be discovered on Monday morning by a neighbour who is renting a room nearby.
The deceased persons were identified as Johanna Nghishinawa Angula, who was a hairdresser at a salon in Outapi, and self-employed Jonas Shalongo Shinene, 31.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed.
The motive behind the murder-suicide has not yet been established and police investigations continue.
