WINDHOEK, 03 AUG (NAMPA) – Former Brave Warriors’ coach, Ricardo Mannetti, has signed a four-year contract with the Namibian Football Association (NFA) to again be senior national football team head coach.
Mannetti resigned as coach of the senior national football team after return from Niger, where it lost 0-1 in its first game of the 2017 African Nations Cup (Afcon) qualifiers.
The defeat came after he helped the Brave Warriors win Namibia’s first-ever football silverware in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (Cosafa) Cup, which was hosted in South Africa in May this year.
The four-year contract commenced on 01 August 2015 and ends 31 July 2019.
As part of his contractual obligations, Mannetti is expected to qualify the team to the 2019 Afcon Cup.
