Woman gang-raped and killed at Okahandja: NamPol

WINDHOEK, 27 JUL(NAMPA) - A 44-year-old woman was assaulted, gang-raped and killed in the early morning hours of Saturday at Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region.
Okahandja is situated some 69 kilometres north of Windhoek.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), Inspector Pendukeni Haikali told Nampa on Monday the incident took place between the Oshetu informal settlement and Dom Lokasie (location) between 03h00 and 07h00.
A group of young men - aged 18, 22 and 34 years - have already been arrested in connection with the incident. They are expected to make their first appearance in the Okahandja Magistrate's Court during the course of this week to answer to the charges of assault, gang rape and murder.
Police investigations are now under way to establish the exact circumstances which led to the incident.
