WINDHOEK, 27 JUL (NAMPA) – The senior national women’s football team will face the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) Under-20 side in a friendly encounter on Monday at the Namibia Football Association (NFA) technical centre.
The game will be used as preparation for Namibia’s Brave Gladiators’ tour to Spain in August when they will participate in an international football tournament there.
The DR Congo U-20s beat their Namibian counterparts 5-0 on aggregate here on Sunday in the 2015 CAF Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Senior national team coach Jacqui Shipanga told Nampa on Sunday that it was deemed necessary to engage the side in a friendly match since they will only travel back to DR Congo on Tuesday.
“They are a strong side at it will really be good preparation for our ladies to keep busy with a team of this magnitude before we travel to Spain in August,” she said.
