Brave Warriors to face Gambia in 2018 World Cup qualifiers

WINDHOEK, 27 JUL (NAMPA) – The senior national football team will face Gambia in its 2018 African Zone qualifying draw for the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) World Cup to be hosted in Russia.
Namibia will face Gambia away on the weekend of 01 October 2015 for the first round.
The return leg will be played on the 02 November in Namibia.
If Namibia wins both of its ties, it will face Guinea next year.
Namibia and Gambia played two games up to date in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) qualifiers in 2010 and 2011.
Namibia lost the first leg away 1-3 and won the return leg in Windhoek 1-0.
The World Cup draw was made in St Petersburg on Saturday, and five African sides will qualify for the finals in Russia.
The 26 lowest-ranked African sides in the FIFA rankings play each other in two-legged ties.
The 13 winners from the first round and 27 other countries compete in two-leg ties with winners progressing to a group stage.
