Woman arrested for allegedly killing her minor son

MPUMA, 06 AUG (NAMPA) - The police in the Kavango Region have arrested a 22-year-old woman after she allegedly strangled her five-year-old son to death at Mpuma village on Monday.
This village is situated some 70 kilometres west of Rundu.
The suspect allegedly strangled her biological son to death with her bare hands.
According to a Namibian Police Force (NamPol) report issued to Nampa on Tuesday, the deceased was from Mpuma village, and his next of kin have been informed.
The police have not yet established the reasons for his mother’s alleged actions.
The suspect’s name is known to this news agency, but can only be released after her first appearance in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
The suspect is expected to be charged with murder, read together with the Domestic Violence Act 4 of 2003.
