Bulls Eye Dart Club to host yearly tournament

WINDHOEK, 24 JUL (NAMPA) – The Bulls Eye Dart Club will host its annual darts tournament that will see Namibian players square off against their South African counterparts at the end of this month.
This year’s tournament will be hosted in Dante Street, Prosperita in Windhoek from 31 July to 01 August 2015.
The club that was established in 2008 as a women’s dart club was later opened to men too after most of its female players moved out of Windhoek to other parts of the country due to work or other personal commitments.
Teams from Windhoek, Grootfontein, South Africa and mixed teams from the //Karas Region will take part in the event and N.dollars 60 000 in prizes will be up for grabs.
President of darts Region Five, Raymond O'Malley as well as one of the committee members, Frans Husfieldt will attend the event as players.
Region Five is made up of Southern African Development Community member countries that play amongst each other with the aim of unifying the principles and practices of the game of darts and to set high standards for increasing achievements in the game with all zone five countries.
These are Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Lesotho, Malawi, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
Five Namibian women’s teams, four Namibian veterans’ teams and two Namibian men’s teams are set to participate in the tournament.
Players taking part in the event were selected from the Southern Africa Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (SARPCCO) team that had a championship in Swaziland recently.
