Pensioner hangs himself near Rundu

MILE 30, 06 AUG (NAMPA) - A 71-year-old pensioner allegedly took his own life by hanging himself with a nylon rope under a tree at Mile 30 village, situated south of Rundu on Monday afternoon.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)s Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Tuesday that no reason could be established why the pensioner committed suicide.
He did not leave a suicide note behind.
The deceased has been identified as Pete Nanyanga, a resident of Mile 30 village.
His next of kin have been informed, and the police have opened an inquest docket into the incident.
