FIVE LUCKY BAKERS WIN HOLIDAY VOUCHERS IN BANK WINDHOEK AND GONDWANA APPLE BAKE-OFF COMPETITION
Five bakers who took part in the Bank Windhoek and Gondwana Collection Namibia Big Apple Bake-Off Competition, have won holiday vouchers of two nights for two people at any Gondwana Lodge across the country.
The five bakers are Nina Schapenberg, Pat Sivertsen, Petra Gruhn, Morne Germishuys and Izelle Strydom. Their names were drawn in the lucky draw of the Apple Pie Competition, which was established two months ago, to support the 2015 Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project and get the public more involved in the Project.
Bakers were required to bake an apple pie, or apfelstrudel and submit it for judging. Thirty-six were received and sold at the Namibia Tourism Expo, which took place last month.
This was the second and last prize-giving ceremony after four employees of The Grove SuperSpar won N$10 000 in the first prize-giving ceremony last month. They shared half their winnings with Emmanuel Kingdom Missions, a charity that runs 24 soup kitchens across the country, feeding more than 3 200 vulnerable children, three times per day. The church also operates at various old age homes and welfare organisations in the capital.
