Six police officers survive accident on Ondangwa-Oshivelo road

OTJIWARONGO, 14 JUL (NAMPA) - Six police officers on Sunday survived an accident after they hit a donkey on the Ondangwa-Oshivelo main road, causing their Toyota pick-up to roll once.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Oshikoto Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Naomi Katjiua told Nampa on Tuesday the police officers were driving from the Oshana Region to Windhoek in the Khomas Region.
The accident occurred at approximately 06h00 on Sunday.
Katjiua said the police officers were expected to attend a training course in the capital.
“One of them, a police warrant officer, sustained serious head injuries and the five others, including a police inspector who was driving the vehicle, sustained slight injuries,” she said.
Katjiua said all six were taken to the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital on Sunday.
Police investigations into the accident continue.
