WINDHOEK, 10 JUL (NAMPA) - Namibia Wildlife Resort (NWR) is to host the Miss Namibia 2015 at the Gross Barmen Resort next month.
A media statement issued here on Tuesday by NWR Corporate Communication and Online Media Manager, Mufaro Nesongano, stated that hosting the beauty pageant at Gross Barmen Resort will present the contestants with an opportunity to better understand the countries’ national parks, along with the camps and resorts within them.
He explained this puts contestants in a better place to showcase Namibia when they partake in other beauty pageants across the world.
Zelna Hengari, Managing Director at NWR said the company sees the beauty pageant as a way of creating awareness to the contestants and make them appreciate the beautiful establishments that the Namibian Government owns through NWR.
“As a truly Namibian pageant that plays host to what is a representation of the beauty across the country, we are proud to be associated with it,” Hengari was quoted as saying in the media statement.
Gross Barmen Resort has been host to the Top 12 Miss Namibia contestants’ preparation since the beginning of this week.
Every year, the Miss Namibia pageant celebrates beauty with a charitable cause, by crowning one deserving young woman to carry the title of Miss Namibia.
Last year, Brumilda Ochs walked away with the prestigious title, while Bernadine Kubersky won the first-runner up position. Second Princess went to Anienke Karsten.
