WINDHOEK, 06 JUL (NAMPA) - A male member of the ‘Children of the Liberation Struggle’ group was found dead at their camp in Okahandja Park here on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as 35-year-old Sion Shemuvalula.
His death was confirmed by spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force, Inspector Slogan Matheus upon enquiry by Nampa here on Monday morning.
Matheus said Shemuvalula was found dead on Sunday afternoon at about 14h00, and police investigations are now under way to establish the exact cause of his death.
Shemuvalula was part of the group of about 100 'struggle kids' who descended on Windhoek during 2012 and set up an illegal shack camp alongside Hereford Street in Okahandja Park, demanding job opportunities in Ministries and other Government-owned entities.
There are over 30 ‘struggle kids’ still residing at the illegal camp.
