WINDHOEK, 05 JUL (NAMPA) - Jeremiah Nambinga is the new Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) president.
He was elected here on Saturday during the party’s extra-ordinary National Convention.
Nambinga won with 201 votes, while his opponent Kandi Nehova got 198 votes.
The two candidates had to go for run-off when other presidential hopefuls fell out in the first round of elections.
Nambinga replaced founding president Hidipo Hamutenya, who retired after leading the party for 10 years.
Nambinga was the party's Secretary for Information and Publicity before his new position.
