Namibia's Paulus 'The Rock' Ambunda was defeated on a unanimous decision in their IBF Bantamweight world title fight against Tomoki “Mexicanito” Kameda of the Philippines.
Kameda, who has a prolific record of 28 fights, 18KOs and no losses, scored a twelve round unanimous decision over Ambunda (20-1, 10 KOs) to become the third Kameda brother to win a world title.
The quicker Kameda outboxed Ambunda from long range and mostly avoided toe-to-toe exchanges en route to a 118-110, 116-112, 117-111 verdict.
Tomoki joins brothers Koki and Daiki in the world title belt club. This is the first time three brothers have won major world championship belts.
Koki currently holds the WBA bantamweight title.
Daiki formerly held the WBA flyweight title and will meet Rodrigo Guerrero for the vacant IBF super flyweight title on September 3 in Japan.
If Daiki wins that fight, all three brothers would be active world champions. Source:
