WINDHOEK, 27 JUN (NAMPA) – The lifeless body of an unknown adult male was found in the Havana informal settlement during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner, Edwin Kanguatjivi told Nampa on enquiry Saturday that the body was discovered by a passer-by, who alerted the police.
Additional information obtained from the City Police indicates the man was found in Mariental Street shortly after an incident at about 02h00.
The deceased was identified as 30-year-old Paulus Natangwe Shilompoka.
City Police officers say he was shot twice from behind.
His firearm license was found on him but not his firearm, and bullet shells found at the scene were not from his firearm.
People who live nearby told the police they heard two men arguing and then two gunshots followed.
The motive behind the shooting has not yet been established, and no arrests have yet been made.
Police investigations continue.
