Outapi CEO burial announced

ONGWEDIVA, 31 JUL (NAMPA) - The former chief executive officer (CEO) of Outapi Town Council in the Omusati Region, Oswin Onesmus Namakalu, will be laid to rest on Saturday.
The town’s public relations officer (PRO), Philip Shililifa announced the funeral arrangements in a media statement issued to Nampa on Tuesday.
Shililifa pointed out that the burial ceremony will take place at the cemetery of the Omuulukila Roman Catholic Church, situated some 10 kilometres (km) west of Outapi.
The burial will follow a church service to be held at the Okafa Koushongo village of the Omusati Region’s Uukolonkadhi area on Saturday morning.
According to Shililifa, two memorial services for Namakalu are scheduled for Thursday and Friday.
The first memorial service will be held in the main hall of the Omusati Regional Council on Thursday, and the second one on Friday at Namakalu’s house at Okafa Koushongo village.
Namakalu, who served as the CEO of Outapi since 2002, died on Thursday last week in a Windhoek hospital after a short illness.
His remains arrived at the Ondangwa Airport from Windhoek on Thursday morning, and it has been taken to Outapi.
The remains of the late Outapi CEO will remain in the mortuary of the funeral services company, Avbob, at Outapi as from Thursday, until the burial on Saturday.
