Da Costa replacing Mathias at Team Namibia

WINDHOEK, 24 JUN (NAMPA) – Roberta da Costa has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Team Namibia.
Da Costa, who is a public relations management graduate, will replace the current Team Namibia CEO Daisry Mathias, who steps down on 15 July – about a year after taking up the position on 17 July 2014.
Mathias announced the appointment of Da Costa during the Team Namibia Annual General Meeting that took place in Windhoek on Tuesday.
Da Costa joins the organisation with eight years of experience in sales, customer support and services.
According to her profile availed to Nampa by Team Namibia on Wednesday, she has worked for corporate giants like First National Bank (FNB) Namibia and Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC). She is currently employed at the Namibia Training Authority in the marketing, public relations and stakeholder engagement division.
The AGM also appointed six new directors to the board.
These are Norbert Wurm (Pick 'n Pay); Gideon Shilongo (Ohlthaver & List); Peter Greef (Etosha Fishing); Adeleide Shikongo (Shikango Manufacturing); Robby Amadhila (Roama Gates Manufacturing); and Danie Grobler (Plastic Packaging).
These directors replaced Dixon Norval, Henry Feris, Karape Katjivive, Moses Shiikwa, Jaco Venter and Pauline Thomas who resigned.
The Team Namibia Board comprises of 16 directors who serve a two-year term each.
