Angolan allegedly kills ex-girlfriend at Oyovu

OYOVU, 21 JUN (NAMPA) – An Angolan man allegedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death at Oyovu village in the Oshikoto Region on Saturday night.
The village is situated in the Omuntele Constituency.
The deceased has been identified as the 31-year-old Martha Iyambo, who lived at her uncle’s homestead.
Aina Amutenya, the deceased’s aunt said the man allegedly broke into Iyambo’s bedroom after she refused to open the door for him.
She was stabbed several times.
She had apparently ended her relationship with the Angolan man and had been in the company of her new boyfriend when the incident occurred, but he fled the scene and survived the incident uninjured.
Members of Iyambo’s family told Nampa at the village on Sunday the suspect ran away and was only arrested on Sunday morning at his home village of Mwatalala in the Ontananga area, also in the Oshikoto Region.
Iyambo is the second woman to be killed by her partner in the Oshikoto Region in the past week.
Onalulago Combined School teacher, Justina Shigwedha-Shipanga, was allegedly shot by her husband at Onalulago village last Wednesday.
After allegedly killing his 53-year-old wife, he set her body alight.
