ONALULAGO, 19 JUN (NAMPA) – A man allegedly killed his wife and set her body alight at their home at Onalulago village in the Oshikoto Region’s Oniipa Constituency on Wednesday.
Members of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) from the Oshana Region were on Thursday still investigating the matter to determine what occurred during the incident in which the woman was burned beyond recognition.
Deputy Commissioner Karl Theron of NamPol in the Oshana Region told Nampa the man handed himself over to the police at Ondangwa on Wednesday.
It is alleged that the suspect shot his 53-year-old wife before setting her on fire in a Toyota Hilux pick-up.
Theron said the man has been admitted to the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound in one of his legs.
