WINNERS ANNOUNCED IN BANK WINDHOEK AND GONDWANA APPLE BAKE-OFF COMPETITION

 

Four employees from The Grove SuperSpar in Windhoek won the main prize of N$ 10 000 in the Bank Windhoek and Gondwana Big Apple Bake-Off Competition.

 

The team, consisting of Nicoline Seibes, Ennede Oukhumes, Nicoleen Rieth and Berry Wasserfall, will share half their winnings with Emmanuel Kingdom Missions, a charity that they chose themselves.

 

The team scored 82.7 percent during the judging which took place on Wednesday, 10 June at the Windhoek Gymnasium School.

 

A total of 36 pies and apfelstrudels were received from members of the public.

 

“Members of the public who want to support the Bank Windhoek Cancer Apple Project by buying a slice of apple pie can go to the Gondwana Farm Stall at the Namibia Tourism Expo taking place at the Windhoek Showgrounds”, said Riaan van Rooyen, Head: Corporate Communication and Social Investment at Bank Windhoek.

 

Members of the public can still submit pies and apfelstrudels at the Farm Stall at the Gondwana Hall until Saturday, 13 June 2015, and five people stand a chance to win two nights’ accommodation for two people at any Gondwana Collection Namibia Lodge.

 

The judges for the Apple Pie Bake-Off Competition consisted of Danie Junius from Windhoek Gymnasium, Rolf Hansen, newly appointed CEO at the Cancer Association of Namibia, and Gerine Hoff, journalist at Republikein newspaper.
