WINDHOEK, 28 JUL (NAMPA) - A three-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised by a 16-year-old boy at the Uumwandi Wewu village in the Ohangwena Region on Saturday.
It is alleged that the suspect, who is the victims relative, went to the complainants house for the weekend, and the two were alone in a room when the incident took place.
The victim allegedly narrated his ordeal to his grandmother. He was taken to the Tsandi District Hospital, upon which the doctor confirmed that anal penetration did take place.
Speaking during the Sunday crime briefing, Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Inspector, Stephan Nuuyi said the suspect has been arrested, and is set to appear in the Okahao Magistrates Court this week.
In a separate incident, NamPol in the Erongo Region are in investigating a case of negligent driving, alternatively drunken driving, after a pedestrian was bumped and broke his leg.
The incident took place in Mandume Ndemufayo Street in the Mondesa residential area of Swakopmund on 17 July at about 03h00.
The victim, Fox Hengombe, 28, was transferred to the Windhoek Central Hospital.
The 20-year-old driver was arrested, and is set to appear in the Swakopmund Magistrates Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, the police in the Oshikoto Region are investigating a case of armed robbery with aggravated circumstances, after five men held the Tsumeb Woermann and Brock stores employees at gun point, while demanding money.
The incident took place on 26 July at about 18h00.
The robbers took off with N.dollars 49 000 in cash.
A 24-year-old male suspect has been arrested, following a tip off from members of the public.
He is currently detained at the Tsumeb police station, pending police investigations.
