KEHEMU, 24 JUL (NAMPA) – The police in the Kavango Region are yet to arrest a man who allegedly raped an 18-year-old woman at the Kehemu informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu on Friday.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations’ Co-ordinator for the Kavango Region, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Wednesday that the suspect allegedly forced the victim onto the ground while in her room, and had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.
The Deputy Commissioner said after sexually assaulting her, the suspect then allegedly inserted a piece of wire into the woman’s private parts and removed it, causing injuries.
Bampton said the suspect is well-known to the victim, but has not yet been arrested.
