WINDHOEK, 27 APR (NAMPA) - The Ministry of Sport, Youth and National Service along with the jukskei club in Omaruru will host the Namibia National Jukskei championships from 28 April to 01 May 2015.
A media statement issued by the Omaruru regional sport officer Berthold Karumendu on Monday stated that the event will kick-off on Tuesday, and it will be hosted at the Rugby Field in Omaruru.
He said all Namibian jukskei clubs or teams will take part in the categories juniors, seniors and veterans for both men and women.
Karumendu said the championships will conclude with an international test against South African Teams.
“We are expecting teams from all over Namibia and more than 75 jukskei players from South Africa to participate in the abovementioned championships in Omaruru during this week,” he explained.
A total of 75 Namibian players are also expected to participate in the championship, with the aim of testing themselves against the South African team.
The Namibian team visited South Africa at the beginning of this month.
The annual event last year took place in Swakopmund.
