Man dies on Okondjatu road

OTJIWARONGO, 27 APR (NAMPA) – A 31-year-old man died instantly when the Isuzu double-cab he was driving overturned several times at the Okondjatu T-junction on Sunday afternoon.
Okondjatu is situated over 200 kilometres southeast of Otjiwarongo.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Head of Operations in the Otjozondjupa Region, Deputy Commissioner Moses Khairabeb told Nampa on Monday that the deceased has been identified as Joe Rapatua Katjizeu. His close relatives are already informed of his death.
The deputy commissioner explained that as the vehicle of the deceased approached the T-junction from the east, the driver lost control over the double-cab that has a Gobabis registration.
Katjizeu died on the spot, while three other passengers – two men and a woman whose ages are unknown - sustained slight body injuries. The three passengers were first treated for minor injuries at the Okondjatu Clinic and were later transferred to the Okakarara State Hospital on the same day.
It is alleged that Katjizeu and his passengers were coming from a wedding at Otjinene in the Omaheke Region.
Police investigations continue.
