CPA Africa region conference starts in the capital

WINDHOEK, 22 JUL (NAMPA) - The 44th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa region conference, which takes place here this week, will deliberate on the proper utilisation of Commonwealth partnerships to promote peaceful conflict resolution.
The meeting, which started Monday and ends Friday, will also deliberate on economic development on the continent.
A media invitation issued by the Secretary to the National Council, Panduleni Shimutwikeni on Monday, indicated that the conference would be officially opened by President Hifikepunye Pohamba.
Close to 500 Members of Parliament (MP) from 19 countries are expected to attend the event.
Tanzania will host next year’s CPA Africa region meeting, which is set to take place in Arusha.
