Nampower suspends company Secretary
National Power Utility, NamPower’s Company Secretary, Susan Mavulu, has been suspended for allegedly leaking vital company information.
NamPower Managing Director Paulinus Shilamba confirmed to The Villager that Mavulu has in fact been suspended but he could not confirm the conditions under which she was suspended.
Shilamba said that internal investigations are being conducted regarding the suspension to find out whether she (Mavulu) is guilty or not.
“I can confirm that the company secretary has been suspended but I cannot reveal the reasons why she was suspended as it an internal matter. We are busy conducting internal investigations into the matter to find out whether she is innocent or not,” said Shilamba.
Shilamba further noted that these are company issues and will be dealt with using the correct procedures. He reiterated that he will not reveal to The Villager what allegations rose against her (Mavulu) as it would be unethical.
“Mavulu is innocent until proven guilty but we had to suspend her because we could not conduct the investigations with her around. These are internal company issues between employer and employee and it would be unethical to give this information out to the media,” noted Shilamba.
Shilamba reiterated; “I am not at liberty to tell you why we have suspended her as it is being dealt with internally but I will confirm that we have suspended her until the process is completed. She is suspended until we compile the information.”
