WINDHOEK 16 APR (NAMPA) - As part of the continuous exchange of diplomatic and cultural values between Namibia and China, the Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe arrived in Windhoek on Tuesday.
The group of around 20 youngsters will perform at the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) on Thursday night as part of the 25th anniversary celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Namibia.
The Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe has won various awards and have toured more than 20 countries performing dances and music.
The members of the group, who are aged eight and 12 years of age, paid a courtesy call on Chinese Ambassador, Xin Shunkang on Tuesday.
The Deputy Director of Cultural Exchange from the Nanjing Cultural Bureau, Deng Ling, told Nampa the group also paid a short visit to Eros Primary School to share some of their skills with the learners.
Deng indicated that Namibia made an impression on the group.
“The hospitality and friendliness of the Namibian people is something we will always remember,” she added.
She explained that the children will perform dance, music and singing.
“Most of the instruments they will use are traditional instruments from China,” Deng noted.
The Nanjing Little Red Flower Art Troupe has also toured Zimbabwe and South Africa. Their next stop is Zambia.
