52-year-old woman drowns while fishing

NDIYONA, 14 APR (NAMPA) - A fishing mission aimed at putting food on the table turned fatal for a 52-year-old woman when she drowned in the Okavango River on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at the Liuyu village, situated some 90km east of Rundu in the Kavango East Region’s Ndiyona Constituency.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo informed Nampa on Tuesday that the deceased drowned while she was busy fishing.
The deceased has been identified as Eveline Kafuro, a resident of the said village.
Her remains were recovered the same day, where after it was transported to the Nyangana district hospital mortuary.
Kafuro's next of kin were already informed, and the police have opened an inquest docket into the incident.
