SBN signs exclusive deal with John Deere

Standard Bank Namibia signed exclusive Collaboration and Local Service Agreements with Africa’s most popular agricultural brand John Deere and Otjiwarongo based local dealer Hoffmann’s Farm Implements.
These bank says these partnerships cater for an exclusive three-year period, which now through the financing from SBN, farming customers can now purchase John Deere tractors and other agricultural equipment via the local dealer Hoffmann’s Farm Implements based in Otjiwarongo.
SBN's Chief Executive Mpumzi Pupuma says the mutually beneficial agreements bring great excitement for the bank and its farming clients.
“I am positive that the latest signing will move us forward and closer to assisting our farming communities around the country, especially during this time of the drought situation. The purpose of these collaboration agreements is to assist SBN  in growing its asset book, whilst John Deere seeks to grow its market share and footprint across Africa and in particular in Namibia,” says Pupuma.
As a bank highly involved in the business of agriculture, SBN is not only catering for agricultural clients with the best possible service and products, but through partnerships like these agricultural businesses grow in the country as well as the country’s economy in general.
“By signing these agreements SBN becomes our exclusive banking agent for three years and we look forward to expanding our business through this long term partnership as we value SBN in the local market,” says Chief Executive Officer of John Deere Jacques Taylor.
Expressing appreciation on his part, Director of Hoffmann’s Farm Implements Jan van der Merwe who has been in business for the past 25 years in Namibia was optimistic to make a success of this venture.
“We promise that we will work very hard to make this work and to really make SBN benefit out of this too. Our clients with whom we have a very good relationship will also will also benefit alot,” said van der Merwe.
To kick start this mutual partnership, SBN is currently conducting information awareness and training sessions about John Deere products and services at an auction event in Otjiwarongo.
