Two security guards arrested for stolen materials

WINDHOEK, 12 APR (NAMPA) - Two security guards were arrested on Saturday in connection with building materials stolen from Kaap Agri in Gobabis.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) spokesperson, Inspector Slogan Matheus told the weekly crime briefing here on Sunday the two security guards had been guarding the shop on Friday.
When the shop manager opened the business on Saturday morning, he found that the shop had been broken into and building materials stolen.
The suspects, aged 28 and 30 years, are due to appear in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
In the Khomas Region, three armed suspects broke into a 23-year-old women’s house in Total Street in Katutura on Saturday between 21h00 and 22h00.
They used an unknown object to break down the door before holding her at gunpoint. The suspects got away with two cellphones, a laptop and N.dollars 490 in cash.
All suspects are still at large and the police investigation continues.
Also in Katutura, a 38-year-old minibus driver was robbed of his belongings at the intersection of Otjomuise Road and Independence Avenue.
The incident took place at around 10h00 on Friday when the three armed suspects held the victim at gunpoint and demanded that he surrender all his money and valuable items.
They robbed him of his cellphones, trousers, and N.dollars 1 500 in cash, as well as his personal documents.
All suspects are still at large and police investigations into the matter continue.
