Hmmm, where do I start? They say we can’t choose our family members but we can most definitely choose our friends. Eish; if only you could choose your family, a lot of people out there would be without families, trust me. Apparently in every family there’s a black sheep, well I believe that is true and if yours doesn’t have one, that’s one perfect family, well not perfect maybe, but then it comes close.
I love my family, from my siblings to my cousins who are like siblings as well, aunts, and uncles… I one day will have a family of my own, this I mean a husband and two kids, but that’s a story for another day. Family is those people that will always be a part of your life whether you want to or not, they’ll always be attached to you and you cannot deny them. Yes they drive us crazy but at the same time they bring joy to our lives. When the world had turned its back on you, your family members will always be there for you, not all of all them but yes, you get where I’m going with this.
Friends, wow!! Friends on the other hand, are not attached to us. You can have different friends over in one year alone, they basically come and go. I believe that real friends always stay no matter what and those friendships that aren’t so real always come to an end one way or another. Nonetheless, friends are amazing people, they make us laugh, cry, happy and they too, once in a while, piss us off. The greatest thing though, about friendship, is the making up, if that ever happens that is. Most times friendships especially for girls tend to break up because of little petty things. Other reasons for breakups in friendship also include taking one’s man or woman, or misunderstandings or general loss of contact when one friend moves out of town or out of the country.
I prefer being friends with the opposite sex as they are the coolest ever, don’t worry girls, I still have mad love for you my ladies. Why do I say this, I can argue with my buddy now and then later on we are the best of friends again, I can tell a guy all my secrets and he’ll never blurt them out when we have a cat fight one day, unlike my fellow counterparts. Don’t worry girls, I still have mad love for you my ladies, lol.
So which of these two is important to you? If you had to choose, whom will you choose? Tough one hey; I don’t think so. Most of us have taken some of our friends as family because the bond that’s shared between friends is at most times amazing, even my aunt said it, and apparently you can’t compare family with friends. At times the love we have for our friends cannot be compared to that we have towards our family members, but then again, only you know who you’d choose.
