Some 500 youth receive civic training at Ondangwa

ONGWEDIVA, 17 JUL (NAMPA) ? The National Youth Service (NYS) of the Ministry of Youth, National Service, Sports and Culture will this Friday officially open its civic training for about 500 young people from around the country.
The NYS? Manager for Corporate Communications and Public Relations, Johanna Kambala said in a media statement issued recently a total of 499 youth are part of the seventh intake of the NYS civic training which is going to be opened officially at Ondangwa in the Oshana Region on Friday.
The recruited youth commenced preparation of their civic training on 01 June 2013 at the Ondangwa Training Centre.
Kambala pointed out that the youth will be trained for a period of three months, and it is aimed at uplifting the general level of discipline amongst the recruits.
It also aimed at inculcating a sense of patriotism among trainees, as well as to develop the youth into individuals with good physical and mental endurance, exemplary moral, ethical character and integrity.
Youth, National Service, Sports and Culture Minister Jerry Ekandjo is anticipated to officially open the civic training programme.
