WINDHOEK, 24 MARCH (NAMPA) - World renowned football star, Didier Drogba will include Namibia in his annual fundraising initiative slated to take place in the United Kingdom next month.
Drogba was in Namibia during November 2014 as a guest of the Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL)'s Windhoek Lager Brand.
A media statement issued by the Ohlhaver and List Group of Companies on Tuesday said Windhoek Lager- the NBLs premium flagship brand - and Drogba enjoy a successful and mutually beneficial partnership for the past year and a half.
It said that the Didier Drogba Foundation launched in 2007 will open its first clinic in Abidjan, Ivory Coast later this year. Drogba donates all his sponsorship earnings to the Foundation and plans to provide mobile clinics to remote villages across the Ivory Coast.
Drogba was quoted as saying: The support the Foundation has received so far has been overwhelming but we still have a lot of work to do.
Meanwhile, Windhoek Lager will host six consumers from Namibia at The Didier Drogba Foundation Charity Ball on Saturday, 18 April 2015 in London. These customers will be selected via promotions.
The six will represent Namibia at the Charity Ball where the much-needed funds will be raised for a noble cause in Namibia, which will be announced at a later stage.
