ONGWEDIVA, 18 MAR (NAMPA) - The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) Northern Branch looks forward to working with President-elect, Dr Hage Geingob, the branchs Chairperson Tomas Iindji has said.
In a media statement sent to Nampa on Tuesday evening, Iindji noted that Geingob will continue on the strong legacy of the countrys past leaders, Dr Sam Nujoma and Dr Hifikepunye Pohamba, once he is inaugurated as Namibias head of State.
Geingob is to be sworn-in as the third Namibian President this Saturday after his election during the countrywide Presidential and National Assembly elections held in November last year.
Iindji said the NCCI Northern Branch leadership believe Geingob will endear Namibia toward its National Development Plan (NDP) goals.
The NCCI has enjoyed the prosperous relationship built with each of Namibias first two presidents (Nujoma and Pohamba), and looks forward to building a stronger Namibian economy in partnership with Geingob and the new government being formed, Iindji stated.
He went on to say members of his branch have confidence in all those elected to the National Assembly (NA) and relies on the wisdom of Geingob as he chooses qualified individuals to lead the respective ministries.
The NCCI Northern Branch, Iindji said, also wishes all of the outgoing ministers and former members of NA the best of luck in the future.
We thank all of you for your commitment to serve Namibia and we will continue to count on you for support as all Namibians are united in the push for development, the northern NCCI leader cited.
He wished the Namibian nation a happy 25th year independence celebration.
The NA members-elect are expected to be sworn-in on Friday, while Geingob is due to name members of his Cabinet after taking oath in the capital on Saturday.
