Angolan boy devoured by crocodile

MUKWE, 18 MAR (NAMPA)- An Angolan boy was allegedly caught and killed by crocodile in the Okavango river on Monday afternoon.
The incident occurred at the Mateke village, situated some 180km east of Rundu in the Kavango East region’s Mukwe Constituency .
The 16 year-old Angolan apparently went to the Okavango with others to swim where after he was subsequently caught by the crocodile.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Kavango East regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Detective Chief Inspector Chrispin Mubebo told Nampa on Wednesday that the deceased’s remains has not yet been found.
The search for the remains by the law enforcement agency in conjunction with the Environment and Tourism Ministry officials however still continues.
The deceased has been identified as Manuel Armando Singi.
The deceased apparently commutes daily by crossing the river with a canoe to attend school on the Namibian side of the border.
