WINDHOEK, 25 FEB (NAMPA)- Walvis Bay based football outfit LHU Blue Waters are confident that the team can win the Namibia Premier League (NPL) season 2014/15 title.
Blue Water's coach Paulus Shipanga told Nampa on Tuesday in a telephonic interview that his team has grown in unity, and their goal for this season is to win the league for the fourth time.
Blue Waters won the title in 1988, 1996, 2000 and 2004.
Shipanga said when the team started the season they only had one goal but that has only been motivating.
Ever since we started this season we have been in the top five and we want to improve our position on the log to win the league or to remain where we are, he said.
Blue Waters are currently fourth on the log stand with 33 points, following Tura Magic with 34 points.
Shipanga said the team is taking one game at the time and trying to win every game they take on.
He added that the team's performance is also boosted by the assistance of the technical team, who are former footballers.
The support from the technical team is good, and them being former players they bring that experience to the team, he said, adding that the team also has young players who are easy to work with.
Most of my players are under 25 years-old, so it is normally easy to work with young people, he said.
On Sunday during the round 18 games, Blue Waters managed to beat Rebels by 1-0, while on Saturday they beat Tigers 2-1.
The team ended fifth in the last season with 32 points and survived relegation in the 2012/13 season when they ended 10th with 23 points.
