The Executive Director of the United Africa Group Haddis Tilahum said the 180-room hotel will open adjacent to the existing Hilton Windhoek, and form part of the Freedom Plaza development.
He said Windhoek's increasing reputation as a tourist destination gave birth to this development.
“We can no longer accommodate travellers in Hilton Windhoek because there are no more beds or rooms for them,” he noted.
He added that the demand for good accommodation for travellers is on the increase in the capital.
