WINDHOEK, 27 JAN (NAMPA) - The late Willie Mbuende will be buried on Saturday at the Okapendje burial site in the Otjombinde Constituency of the Omaheke Region.
The legendary bass guitarist passed away last Tuesday at the Rhino Park Private Hospital in the capital after a short illness.
He was 67.
His brother Dr Kaire Mbuende told Nampa on Tuesday that there will be two memorial services in his honour before the burial.
The first memorial service will be a tribute concert set for Wednesday at the Khomasdal Community Hall at 18h00, and not the Katutura Arts Centre as wrongly advertised in a local daily newspaper on Tuesday, said Kaire.
The second memorial service will be held on 29 January at the Unity Protestant Church (Oruaano) in Katutura next to the Commando Hall.
Kaire said his brother was a hardworking and kind person, who had a deep passion for music.
Willie is survived by his wife and three children - two girls and one boy.
Some of the musicians who will perform during the tribute concert are Ras Shehama, the Ndilimani Cultural Troupe, Erna Chimu, Axue and 'Ugly Creatures'.
