Namibians found with counterfeit US$ notes

OPUWO, 14 JAN (NAMPA) Two Namibians appeared in the Opuwo Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on charges relating to the possession of counterfeit United States dollar (US$) notes.
The two are part of three people who were arrested by the Namibian Police (NamPol) on Sunday, after American dollar notes amounting to $ 180 200 (about N.dollars 2 million), were found at their places of residence.
The two Namibians, George Nanyemi,29, and 26-year-old Jacob Kavera, pleaded guilty to the charge of being found with the counterfeit notes.
According to the police crime report, three suspects including a 14-years-old girl, were arrested on Sunday after they were found in possession with counterfeit US$.
The police were conducting an operation and found the money in the suspects house at the Kaoko Information Flats in Opuwo on Sunday. The money was confiscated and the accused persons arrested on the spot.
The minor was released in the custody of her parents.
The two accused who appeared before magistrate Leena Iyambo, and were denied bail on Tuesday and their case postponed to 14 and 15 January 2015 for sentencing, while they were remanded in custody.
The state was represented by Public Prosecutor, Obert Masendeke.
