Exciting action in BidVest preliminaries

WINDHOEK, 13 JAN (NAMPA)- Kavango East’s Kangweru Black Tops, Zambezi’s Shooting Stars and Western Stars of Kavango West have booked their places in the Round of 32 stage of the 2015 Bidvest Namibia cup.
A media statement issued by the Namibia Football Association on Monday stated that the three teams are the regional champions’ of the 2015 Bidvest Namibia Cup while Oshana, Omusati and Oshikoto regions’ finals were curtailed by rain during the preliminary stage played during the weekend.
The statement indicated that at Nkurenkuru, Kavango West's Western Stars beat Hamaleevi FC 2-0 to be crowed champions and advance to the Round of 32 stage, while in the semifinals, Stars thrashed Mupini United 4-1 while Hamaleevi trounced Kefas Kemanya United 3-1.
“At the Rundu Stadium on Saturday afternoon, Kangweru Black Tops were winners following their 5-2 win over Divayi United in the final match of their regional 2015 Bidvest Namibia Cup,” read the statement, adding that Tops reached the final with a commanding 2-0 win over Kavango United while Divayi United were 4-2 victory over Special Eleven.
Furthermore, Shooting Stars were crowd champions of the Zambezi Region after a 2-1 victory over Space Age.
It further reads that Stars were earlier in the day 1-0 winners over Black Buffalo and Space Age edged out Rocano King Rangers by the same score line.
In other preliminary games at Onayena in the Oshikoto region, Oshikoto NAMPOL will face Ondangwa United in the final match to be contested on Saturday 17 January.
“NAMPOL reach the final by ousting Safile United 13-12 on penalties after a goalless draw, while United were a narrow 1-0 winners over Onathinge United,” read the statement.
The final match will be played at 14h00 at Nehale Secondary School Stadium on Saturday.
At the David Sheehama Stadium in Omusati region, the action will resume on Saturday, 17 January with semifinal matches and the final.
Omusati United will face Outapi United at 08h00, followed by Onambula Young Generation up against Ogongo United.
Meanwhile Oshana regional second division playoffs at the Oshakati Independence Stadium saw Vietnam Rangers and African Motto involved in a thrilling semifinal match which in the end Rangers won 3-2 while Khuse FC and Onelago United also produced a riveting game which the former won narrowly, 2-1.
The final in Oshana will also be played on Saturday, 17 January 2015 at the same venue at 16h00.
“In the northern regions, action could not conclude on Sunday as planned due to welcomed rain in the area,” further stated the statement.
In the //Karas Football Region Second Division, the final will be on 17 January 2015 betwen Real Fighters FC and Youngsters FC Fighters beat Dates Eleven 2-0 while Youngsters were 3-2 winners over Atlanta Bucs.

The 2015 Bidvest Namibia Cup Competition Proper, featuring 32 clubs including the 16 Premier league outfits will be played on 30-31 January as well as on 01 February 2015, at venues to be determined during the launch of the competition on 20 January in Windhoek.
The Round of 16 will be contested on 27-28 February as well on 01 March 2015, with the quarterfinals set for the weekend of 27-29 March 2015. The semifinal will hold on 24-26 April 2015 with the final match, will be contested on 30 May 2015 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.
