KUALA LUMPUR, July 15 (Bernama) -- Scomi Energy Services Bhd, an associate company of Scomi Group, has bagged a RM158.7 million bulk coal affreightment contract with TNB Fuel Services.
The company, formerly known as Scomi Marine Bhd, said the contract was for a period of two years commencing September 1, 2013, with an option to extend it for another year.
It is expected to transport about three million metric tonnes of coal per year to and from various locations, Scomi Energy said in a statement.
Scomi Energy Services has a fleet 82 vessels comprising 43 tugs, 29 barges, six utility vessels, three anchor handling tug and supply vessels and, two accommodation barges.
The company's core business activity is in oilfield services, production enhancement, marine logistics and offshore support services, in the oil & gas and coal industries.
It currently operates in over 50 locations across the globe.
