BALIK PULAU, July 15 (Bernama) -- The remand order on two men, detained in connection with the murder of a China national in Bukit Genting here, has been extended by five days until Saturday.

One of the suspects was the boyfriend of the victim, June Xing, 37.

She had worked at a beauty centre in George Town, having lived in Penang over the past five years.

Balik Pulau police chief Supt Hatta Md Zin said the extension of the remand was to enable investigations into the killing to be completed.

He said another suspect, aged 49, was released on police bail after his statement was recorded.

Last Monday, Xing's body was found in a durian orchard near the White Resort National Service Training Camp.

Following that, the police detained three men in separate operations in George Town.
