Kunene Region had a peaceful festive season

OPUWO, 30 DEC (NAMPA) - The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kunene Region did not register any serious crimes for the period from 24 to 29 December this year.
According to the daily crime report, as provided by the division of Regional Crime Investigation and Coordination of Kunene, no case of a serious crime was registered in the region during that part of the festive period.
The neighbouring Omusati Region however recorded one case of motor vehicle theft at Okahao.
It was reported that a Toyota sedan with number plate N162659W was stolen at Okahao town on Christmas Day.
The car was allegedly parked at a garage at Okahao with keys in the ignition. The suspect simply got into the car and drove away.
The suspect drove to Omakange village where the car was recovered and impounded by the Omakange Police at around 20h00 on Christmas Day.
The complainant in this motor vehicle theft matter is Reinhold Shaanika, while the suspect has been identified as Jeremia Kanailulu Martin. Both are Namibian nationals.
