WINDHOEK 27 DEC (NAMPA) - Multi-award winning Kwaito artist, Lazarus Shiimi popularly known as Gazza in the music circles, treated 70 orphans and underprivileged children with goodies and food on Christmas Day in Ongwediva.
Shiimi told Nampa on Saturday that everyone’s aim of doing business is to make profit, but for him its more than profit - it is to inspire the youth since they are the future.
He said gestures of this nature is to show his appreciation to the community for supporting him.
“I did that to give the kids an environment where they can enjoy themselves on a special day like this,” he said
Shiimi thanked Spar Oshakati; Fysal Fresh Produce; FairDeal Promotions and Kaf Kape Trading for their contributions towards the event.
A representative of Spar encouraged other artists to do events of this nature to give back to the community.
Four years ago, Shiimi also donated N.dollars 1 000 and T-shirts to the family of the late Magdalena Stoffels who was raped and murdered in a Khomasdal river bed in July 2010.
